Do Not Call,No I Really Mean It

Bronson Files Lawsuit Against Company For Violating 'Do Not Call' Law According to the press release "Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson announced today that he has taken legal action against a Tampa Bay area telemarketer for violating Florida's "Do Not Call" law.

A lawsuit filed in Pinellas County Circuit Court alleges that United Vacation Network Inc., of Largo, made at least 7 calls to Florida residents on the state's "Do Not Call" list during the past 17 months. In addition, the suit claims that at least 4 of the company's telemarketing calls contained recorded messages, which is a separate violation of state law.

"Consumers who join the program are entitled to be spared the intrusion of commercial telemarketing calls, and we're committed to seeing that their privacy is protected," Bronson said. "We have little tolerance for companies who flout the law."

Perhaps Bronson could buy the consumers a $9.00 answering machine and instruct consumers on how to delete messages.
