Soya Delight Business Opportunity Fraud

Here is another standard business opportunity fraud, run by that delightful Georges MacDonald, soya delight or soy delight or soy delite

Couple of points of interest.

"These distributorships cost over 20 thousand, they advertise in the business section of newspapers around the country and lure people with over 6 bribed people as references, who disappear as soon as the is paid.

The "agreement" has an arbitration clause which forces the distributor to spend another couple of thousand in fighting a company that is not even registered in Florida out of where they operate but is registered in Nevada and is an active corporation with number C23628-2004 ."

That is clever - buys more time for the bad guys to stall.

How does the fraud work?

Well from archive.org, we learn about the soydelightscam.com and read:

"In Oct 2005, I answered a newspaper ad in the business opportunities section in the MPLS Star-Tribune.

The ad said something to the effect of "Read Meters - Collect Money" and gave a number to call.

I called and left my name/number on a voice message.

Jim Malcolm promptly returned my call within same day I believe. He asked if I had any grocery experience and when I replied no, he said that was good,

They where looking for entrepreneurs with energy and actually preferred no grocery route experience so they can train people their way and have people open to new ideas.

he explained about the Soya Delight products, how unique they are, and that they have no competitors.

The product is made in Canada, is very successful and has just recently received FDA approval and they are now expanding to the US and are looking for distributors to fill this need.

He made it seem like it was a very selective process and that they were only looking for one distributor here in the Twin Cities.

He sent me an application and a information packet.

I will post the packet in the documents section but until then, I'll tell you it has earnings examples and pricing that I later found out were no where close to reality.

I completed the application and faxed it in to Jim Malcom.

I checked out the company "Soya Delight" on the internet and found nothing negative anywhere.

I found a few websites that were selling the product online for less than what the packet was using but this was explained away at a later time.

I found a few posts to chat rooms for celiac and diabetic groups and by the dates, it seemed that had been around for almost a year"

The hook happens very early on here: responding to an bizop ad "Read Meters/Collect Money". How hard could that be?

Instantly, the ground shifts and the distributorship "that fits you" is presented.

Notice, that if the person would have said that they had experience, that too would have worked for the criminals.

The hook is that this business is "just for you" - you have already selected yourself for it.

The standard fake earnings claims, fake testimonials and fake names -for the most part,

But we do have the usual cast of characters, dating back to the Beaupre scams.

"Mike Punziano or Michael Punziano - Previous Soy Delite Inc president up until 12/7/04 (of 2900 S UNIVERSITY DR SUITE 41 CORAL SPRINGS, FL 33065)

Mike Pinto - Mike Punziano's alias (probably one of many)

Ken Lewis (tel:561-309-9876 West Palm Beach Cell Phone, Listed as Kenny Lewis in yahoo 4743 Alberta Ave West Palm Beach, FL Home phone (561) 686-3221-) Soy Delite Inc current president who also owns RE-LOAD GROUP

Mark Rollins or Markham Rollins - Soy Delite Inc employee introduced to me as the Sr VP of Dealer Acceptance / Development'

Do give me a call if you recognize any of these characters in your home town.

Love to talk with them.
