Do You Make This Mistake -Bad Advice from Police?

Stop and think before you get scammed

Here is advice from the Police:

"Consumer education is more important today than ever. Before making any purchase, have an idea what you’re buying, especially if it’s something you consume.

Phony medication, worthless merchandise, dangerous diet products and items that are never delivered are all too common.

Never trust your health to someone who you don’t know well.

It’s also a good idea to be cautious when purchasing antiques or collectibles; you may pay for a fake."

Uh, who cares. Is there in any evidence that more educated consumers do not fall for scams?

No - scam protection is not a matter of education and knowledge, it is a matter of being prepared.

For example, the advance fee scam works because individuals believe that there is something for nothing.

They cannot see what is wrong with the set-up: so they believe that they are smarter than the con criminal.

Wrong.
