Are you that person who knows everyone?
You met JFK just before he died, Obama asks for your advice on economics, and just possibly you might have worked for CIA.
In other words, are you a fake?
Obtaining indirect authority because you surround yourself with people who accomplished something?
Well, USANA was playing the fake authority role at the Olympics.
"USANA would like to congratulate USANA-sponsored Olympian Becca Ward for her bronze medal finish in fencing at the Beijing Olympic Games. Ward defeated Russia's Sofiya Velikaya, 15-14, to take home the bronze.
Former President George H.W. Bush attended the medal ceremony and congratulated the medalists afterward.
Ward is one of many Olympic and professional athletes who trust USANA's high-quality nutritional products. USANA applauds Ward and all of the athletes at the 2008 Summer Games for their hard work and dedication to sport."
Uh, I am just going to make a small guess here. But, I will bet you a whole a Canadian dollar that George H.W. Bush is not a USANA advocate!
But sneaking his name into an plug for USANA is the point of this entire fake authority press release.
Later on, many people will only remember, at an emotional level, the link between USANA and George H.W. Bush.
Pretty neat cheating, eh.

Thanks Merv - actually, I had no idea who the picture represented. Just thought it sort of fit the article!
So who is Becca Barlow?

The picture accompanying the article is of Becca Barlow, not Becca Ward.
