Social Influence and Fraud

1. Economic crimes are crimes, it is time to stop blaming the victim.
2. There is no particular profile of economic crime victims.
3. There are effective methods which appear to prevent the cognitive mechanisms from working.
All regulators charged with preventing business opportunities fraud or scam should make a serious effort to understand and use this science in the prevention of fraud. It will be interesting to follow the new academic journal, Social Influence, when it is published this fall.
