How Stupid Are Canadians?

Canadians are just as silly as Americans.  When the CRTC create the do not call system, the system was overwhelmed with people trying to sign up.

I have always said that putting your name on a list saying that you are vulnerable is plain silly - someone is going to sell that list to telemarketers.

But, here is what the CRTC says:

"It's a familiar scene for many Canadians: the phone rings, but instead of hearing the welcome voice of a friend or relative, they're interrupted by a telemarketer who is selling a product or service and is reluctant to take no for an answer.

Your vote: Do you intend to sign up for the national do not call list?

But, under the newly launched do-not-call list, Canadians can now limit the number of unwanted telemarketing calls they receive.

Legislation to create a do-not-call list was passed in late 2005."

You don't want to hear from a telemarketer, buy an answering machine and screen your calls.
